Should Old Acquaintance be forgot, and never thought upon;
As you start your new year, we, of course, wish you the utmost in success, and certainly, hope that old acquaintances are not forgotten. If you are like me, you have spent at least the last month thinking and planning for the New Year and how you can make it your best year ever. I probably should have shared this column earlier, but I am sure it will still have an effect no matter what plans you have set into motion.
Of course, around here we talk about business plans quite a bit of the time. I have a simple equation for business success.
Business Success = Increase Revenue + Decrease Expenses
Some of you may think that this is too simple, and that business can’t be this easy. I like to think that things can usually be easier than we tend to make them. With that in mind, it is important to look for tools that can make our lives simpler. This equation becomes much easier to accomplish when you find tools that increase your revenue and decrease your expenses at the same time.
Referral Marketing is just such a tool. The cost is building relationships; the payoff is a steady stream of qualified referrals. Building relationships with the right people, those that can provide referrals on a regular basis, change the game. What would your life look like if you spent the majority of your time with friends and received a steady and consistent stream of referrals? This is exactly what I am suggesting; building deep meaningful relationships with referral sources that become much more than simply business acquaintances.
Master Key to it All
Whatever you are doing in life, there is a Master Key that helps you stay on track and achieve success. This key is Passion. Passion for your trade or business helps make you referable. Passion for relationships helps finish your referral plan out. There are plenty of other components involved, sure, but passion is the component that ensures you follow through with those plans and actions. Passion ensures that you don’t half step, that you commit and that you succeed.
What are you passionate about? Do you have a passion for relationships and referrals? Do you let your passion show?
